Aaron Lee West, Sr., age 78, of Gaston, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1933 in Smithville, TN to Herbert C. and Cora (Wagner) West.
He was a member of U.A.W. Local 663 in Anderson, IN and was employed by G.M. Guide Lamp as an Inspector for 30 years before retiring. Aaron was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to camp and spend time with his family. He married Ethel Elizabeth Etheridge on May 23, 1955 and she preceded him in death on July 26, 2005.
Aaron is survived by his sons, Aaron L. West, Jr. (wife Cindy) of Markleville, IN, Herbert L. West Sr. (wife Valerie) of Muncie; daughters, Paula K. Caudill (husband Dale) of Gaston, IN, Anna M. Andersen (husband David) of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Leonard West (wife Judy) of Sparta, TN; sisters, Irene Krouse of Yorktown, IN, Geraldine French (husband Jim) of Muncie, Virginia Koons (husband Donal) of Sparta, TN; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie, IN 47303 with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, 9135 N.
