Obituary

Alan Duane Brammer, 54, died Wednesday evening at his residence in Summitville.

He was born September 16, 1965, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie to Michael and Betty Brammer. He was a 1984 graduate of Muncie Northside High School where he lettered in cross country and track. Alan attended Ball State University, once describing himself as a "lost junior in the entrepreneurship program."

He was a successful businessman through multiple companies and organizations including B & B Campus Bike Shop and All-American Door (both of which he owned) as well as Rutter Communications and Info Indiana. Alan served two terms as an at-large member of the Delaware County Council, serving from 1997 to 2005.

Alan was a devoted fan of The Rolling Stones, and was proud to have seen them in four different decades in four different states. He was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers Men's Basketball Team, the Indiana Pacers, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also an auto racing enthusiast, and was proud to have attended several inaugural events at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He enjoyed multiple vacations to Tybee Island, Ga., and Walt Disney World with his family. Other favorite destinations included Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Traverse City, Mich., and Boulder, Colo.

He is survived by his three children, all born to him and his high school sweetheart Missy Brammer: Bianaca Krus of Vermillion, S.D. (husband Tony), A.J. of Madison, and Samantha of Tempe, Ariz. Other survivors include his mother Betty of Summitville, brother Brad of Muncie (wife Candace), nephews Chase and Austin, niece Macy, aunts Cindy Brown and Beth Ann Reich, along with several cousins including Heather and Jarad Reich.

He was preceded in death by his father Mike Brammer, uncle Billy Brammer, and his great aunt and uncle Sarah and Roger Cox, and other relations.

Full arrangements are pending with the Garden View Funeral Home.  As Alan was the proud owner of several dogs (including Arthur, Jake, Lizzy, and Liza), in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Muncie Animal Rescue Fund are requested by the family.
