Alfred Hite Jr., 90, of Gaston, died early Tuesday morning, February 26th, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born October 20th, 1922 in Huntington, WVA, and was the son of the late Alfred Sr. & Ethel (Casey) Hite.

Alfred had retired from Goodyear Tire Company in 1968, Moose Lodge in 1977, Marsh as a truck driver in 1988, and CARQUEST in 1999. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge & Teamsters 135. Alfred was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Patricia Kay Hite of Muncie; two sons Danny Estell Hite (Sharon) of Muncie, and Charles David Hite (Mary Ann) of Muncie; six daughters, Terry L. Trimble (Carl) of Muncie, Melanie Beall (Jeff) of Eaton, Angela Selvey (Neal) of St. Petersburg, FL, Penny Clark (fiance'' Mike Foster) of Columbus, IN, Linda Dobbs (Derrick) of Yorktown, and Jeanetta Smith (Jerry) of Columbus, IN.; three brothers, Fredrick W. Hite (Phyllis) of Kenova, WVA., James I. Hite of Huntington, WVA., and Charles G. Hite (Peggy) of Muncie, IN; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters Lois A. Schaffer, Helen Scarbarry, Mary Catherine Hite, and Mamie C. Lawrence; two brothers Raymond C. Hite, and John E. Hite; two grandsons, and a great-grandson.

Funeral Services for Alfred will be held Friday, March 1st, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Collin Glenn officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
