Alma M. (Darling) Scott, 93, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 21, 2010 at Elmcroft of Muncie following an extended illness.
She was born on March 6, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Cora Elizabeth (Vannatta) Darling.
Alma was reared in Randolph County and graduated from Parker City High School in 1935. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Ball Memorial Hospital and was a nurse there for many years. Alma married the love of her life Alton "Mack" Scott in May of 1941. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1984. She is a member of the Chesterfield Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Selma, IN Post #437.
Survivors include her son, Steve Scott (wife, Sue), Muncie; three grandchildren, Laurie Hackler (husband, Scott), Norris, Tennessee, Sean Scott (wife, Heather), Alexandria, Virginia and Stacey Edwards (husband, Vince), Daleville; five great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Winifred Darling, Farmland; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Larry Scott in 2002; and one brother, Clarence Darling in 1968.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor David Hershey officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory north of Muncie.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
