Alvina L. Paholke, 101, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, at her residence.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, December 16, 1909. It was in Cleveland where at the age of 16, she met, the love of her life, Edward.
Her life was filled with many wonderful friends with whom she shared happy days at the bridge table and on the Delaware Country Club golf course.
She left behind her only child, Leslie Hatch, (husband-Stephen), Deerfield, Illinois; two loving granddaughters, Lauren Marz, (husband-Dan) and Lindsey Slocum, (husband-TJ). Her life was made more complete by the coming of four great-grandchildren, Devan Marz, Sydney Marz, Jeffrey Slocum and Tatum Slocum.
She will also be missed by her nephew, Gary Pakolke, (wife-Janet), their children and by her very close long time friend, Tine Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward F. Paholke; and two brothers.
Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
