Anna Jean Stinson, 74, of Yorktown, IN died Monday February 23, 2009 at Waters of Yorktown. She was born on December 31, 1934 in Glasgow, KY the daughter of Oakly and Ima Cola (Crawford) Stinson. She attended Allen County High in Scottsville, KY. On November 3, 1952 she married Bobby Stinson in Franklin, TN.
Anna worked as a custodian for Ball State University for 21 years, retiring in 1996. Anna was an active member of the Jackson Park Baptist Church in Muncie. Anna also belonged to the Ball State Sympathy Club. She was an avid quilt maker as well as enjoyed garage sales and very much loved being a grandmother.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of 56 years, Bobby Joe Stinson, of Yorktown, IN; sons Joe Stinson (wife: Debbie) of Daleville, IN; Terry Stinson (wife: Ida) of Muncie, IN; daughter Debbie "Sam" Lehman (husband: Mike) of Muncie, IN; brother Paul Stinson of Scottsville, KY; sisters Chris Clark of Indianapolis, IN; Pauletta Brawner (husband: Maxie) of Westmoreland, TN; and Donna Anderson (husband: Jimmy) of Scottsville, KY; grandchildren Jeremy, Jason, Travis, Chelsea, Samantha and Michael; great grandchildren Austin and Reanna; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as one sister, Helen Daniels.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday February 27, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Thursday February 26, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Jackson Park Baptist Church in memory of Anna J. Stinson.
