Ariel C. Propes, 86, of Dunkirk, IN died Wednesday December 5, 2007 at the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on February 1, 1921 in Hall County, Georgia the son of Fred J. and Mary Lou (Hall) Propes. On November 12, 1987 in Muncie he married Maxine M. (White) Propes who survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose. He retired in 1986 as a machinist at CTS.
Surviving relative include his wife, Maxine M. Propes of Dunkirk, IN; one step-son, L.H. Brasonton of Ossian, IN; two brothers, Melvin Propes of Harwell, GA; Curtis Rual Propes of Greenville, IN; four sisters, Florence E. Wallace of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Lou Parker of Gainesville, GA; Gertrude Shaver of Elberton, GA; 10 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Marvin A. Propes, two sisters and one brother.
Private family services have been arranged. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. The Delaware County Honor Guard will honor him with military rites at the service.
