Obituary

Arlie Davis 93, of Knox, Indiana, was called home to be with the Lord, May 21, 2022.

He was born Aug 9, 1928 in Pioneer, Tennessee to William Thomas and Mary Ann (Childress) Davis.

Arlie married Jewell Jeffers on December 5, 1948. They built a home and a family life together in Gaston, IN and were members of the Eastside Baptist Church for many years where he served as deacon. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

He worked for Marhoefer Packing Company in earlier years. Later working in maintenance for  Ball State University were he retired after many years of service. He was also a Mason member for over 65 years. Arlie loved working in his garage, gardening, fishing and the outdoors. Arlie never met a stranger and enjoyed helping others. He loved telling stories to family and friends and loved traveling to spend time with his loved ones. Arlie and Jewell enjoyed wintering in Okeechobee, Florida.

Left to celebrate his life and mourn his passing are his children: Linda (William) Peterson of Parker CIty, In. Dalton (Lana) Davis of Knox, In. Verlene Smith of Brookville, In. One sister Jewel Dean Babb of Painsville, Oh. 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ethan (Eveyln) Davis, four sisters Eda Mae (Paul) James, June (Roy) Chambers, Bulah Davis, Katherine Davis, 1 Great Granddaughter Carlee Haffner, 1 grandson Michael Adam Davis and 1 son-in-law Warren N. Smith

Visitation will take place are Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N St. Rd. 3 Muncie, In 47303 from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Service will be at 12:00PM on Friday May 27, 2022
