Arvin Ray Denney was born in Saint Barnard, Cincinnati, Ohio on November 30, 1930 to Nannie Jane (Rains) Denney and Reverend Arnold Hayden Denney. He passed away in Muncie, IN on February 25, 2010 at the age of 79.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bob, Roy and Paul and by sisters: Dora Mae McDole and Nora Leta Richardson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Carter.
He is survived by brothers: Reverend Eldon Denney and Junior C. Denney and sister: Alice Roberts. He is also survived by daughter: Annetta C. Neal and sons: Lyle Glen Denney, Dallas Ray Denney and Jeffrey Ray Denney. He is also survived by step-daughter Betty Durrett, and grandchildren: Robyn, Lori, Jason, Frank, Charles, Steve, Kerry, Jessica, Joshua, Christian, Gabriel, and Crystal, and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Denney spent his childhood and young adulthood in Wayne County, Kentucky. As a young married man, he came to Muncie, IN to find employment at Indiana Bridge Company. He lived in the Muncie area, the Mt. Summit area and in New Castle at various times. Mr. Denney was also a master welder. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed attending his brother, Rev. Eldon Denney''s church, in Hagerstown, IN. He was good hearted and will be missed and is loved by many.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Faith United Baptist Church in Hagerstown, IN.
