One day, every one of us will take a breath on this earth that we will never take again. Avagale DuBois Love took her last earthly breath on September 27, 2026, at 1:15 p.m. For many, that sounds like an ending. But for the child of God, Gale, it was her homecoming.

She is home, where He is. She is in the place Jesus prepared for her, a place beyond hospitals, goodbyes, aging bodies, and unanswered questions. A place where there is no pain, no tears, and where death cannot follow. She stepped into eternal light. Her tired feet crossed the threshold. The silver cord was broken. Her faith became sight. She is hearing the voice she trusted her entire life, and she now understands that every promise is true.

Gale was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and spent her life serving the Lord and faithfully serving her church. She was a woman of deep faith who loved people fiercely, forgave quickly, and made those around her feel loved and seen. Her joyful spirit, kindness, and genuine love for others left an impression on countless lives.

Gale also dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a nurse. She was deeply loved by her patients, who experienced not only her skill and compassion, but also the warmth and kindness that came so naturally to her. Caring for people was more than a profession for Gale, it was an extension of the love she carried for others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Love.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Short (Doug) and Lori Hiatt (Vance); granddaughter, Elizabeth Driscoll (Stephen); and great-granddaughters, Abigail and Elaina Driscoll.

Gale lived a life that touched many people. She did not live without sorrow, but she kept her eyes on Jesus. Her faith carried her through every season, and now that faith has become sight. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says, “And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

Gale didn’t die; she simply went home. And while heaven gained a precious child of God, those of us left here on earth will miss her every day.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.

Immediately following services a funeral service to celebrate Gale’s life will begin at 1:00pm pm at the funeral home with Pastor Carlton Bowden officiating.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
