Barbara Ann Curtis, 63, of Muncie , IN died Friday March 30, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie . She was born on September 15, 1943 the daughter of James and Irene (Parker) Boyle. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1961 and on January 1, 1980 she married James Curtis who survives.
She graduated from Marion County School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She retired from Ball Memorial Hospital in 2005.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara enjoyed cooking, crocheting, golfing, gardening, and her pet birds.
Surviving relatives include her husband James Curtis of Muncie; her father, James Boyle of Yorktown, IN; one son, Derek Childs (wife: Jane) of Redkey, IN; daughter, Leslie Shafer (husband: Kevin) of Eaton, IN; two step-daughters, Dawn Parks (husband: Rob) of Muncie, IN; Stephanie Epplett (husband: Mark)of Grand Haven, MI; one brother, Dennis Boyle (wife: Phylis) of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Jamie Parks, Nicholas and Andrew Shafer; Taylor Childs; Alexa, Logan, Tristen and Emma Epplett; and Josh Glessner.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, David Boyle.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday April 3, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Rev. Robert Burton and Rev. Forest Sears will officiate the service. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association in Memory of Barbara Ann Curtis. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
