Barbara J. Brinker, 74, of Muncie, IN passed away Thursday January 3, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital. Barbara was born on May 20, 1933 in Maryville, TN the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Boring) Brown. On May 5, 1962 Barbara married Wilfred Brinker who survives her.
Barbara worked as a machine operator most of her life. She was a member of the Southside Nazarene Church. Barbara also loved to write poetry.
Surviving relatives include her husband Wifred of Muncie, IN; son John (wife: Dawn) Gibbs of Parker City, IN; three daughters Tammy (husband: Lenny) Harnish of Elkhart, IN; Beckie Brinker of Fort Wayne, IN; Janie (husband: Ty) of Muncie, IN; brother Joseph Brown of Wauwaka, IN; sister Ruth (husband: Fred) Lawson of Poke City, FL; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grand-daughter Shannon Gibbs; son Thomas Gibbs, son William Brinker; daughter Katrena VanPelt; sisters Georgia Duncan, Ellen Jarnigan, Wanda Buzan, Marie Hatcher.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday January 7, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Keith Kelly will officiate the service. Burial will in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Sunday January 6, 2008 from 1:00 p.m until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
