Barbara S. Carpenter, 51, died late Friday afternoon, February 15, 2008, in Liberty Village following an extended illness.
She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Ottis and Lillian (Vining) Roysden, graduated from Wapahani High School in 1974, and spent her entire life in this area.
Mrs. Carpenter attended Sound the Alarm Worship Center, enjoyed working with flowers, and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband of thirty-three years, Gail E. Carpenter; two sons, Jeremy and Brandon Carpenter; her father, Ottis Roysden; three sisters, Vicki Goodman, Judy Dodson, (husband, Kenneth Wayne), and Wanda Justice; three brothers, Bubby (Ottis), Robert, and Ronnie Roysden; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Roysden.
Services will be held at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February, 19, 2008, with Pastor Kenneth Wayne Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday or prior to service time on Tuesday
