Barbara Ann Curtis, 72, of Selma , IN died Saturday January 3, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie , IN. She was born on October 8, 1936 in Indianapolis , IN the daughter of Maurice and Jessie (McPheeters) Rein. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1957. On July 18, 1957 in Muncie , IN she married Elmer Floyd Curtis who survives.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed clowning at the circus, children homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and with the Shriners. Her clown name was Sunflower. She also enjoyed square dancing.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of 51 years, Elmer Floyd Curtis of Selma, IN; two daughters, Lisa Carper (husband: James) of Muncie, IN; Melissa Marquis (husband: Randy) of Richmond, IN; one sister, Jackie Johnston (husband: Mike) of Muncie, IN; four grandchildren, Lindsey and Kelsey Marquis of Richmond, IN; Michael and Jonathan Alexander of Muncie, IN; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Sadi, Jennifer, Andrew, Caleb, and Jonathan Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday January 6, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Daryl Kepler will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie . Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
