Barbara Earlene Pruitt, 74, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 in her home with her daughter by her side. Barb was born on October 8, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Elijah Earl Pruitt, Sr. and Oeta (Brattain) Wray Kern. Barb is a 1954 graduate of Muncie Central High School and an attendee of Ivy Tech. On September 4, 1981 she married Levi Leon Gaddis in Muncie.
Barb retired from IN Bell Telephone Company in 1992 after 22 years of service. She also worked for Odle Painting Company for 4 years. Barb loved boxers and was Mama to several of them over the years. She taught obedience classes for several years and was a past president and past treasurer of the Muncie Obedience Training Club. Barb was a life-time member of Job''s Daughter''s Bethel #25 as well as an avid reader, having her own library.
Barb is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Levi L. Gaddis; 2 sons: John E. Tuttle, Jr of Carlsbad, CA and Jeffry W. Tuttle of Orlando, FL; daughter Jana L. Tuttle (husband, Gary Groves) of Muncie; step son Michael Gaddis (wife, Betty) of New Castle; grandchildren that were always called her babies: Sherri L. and Phillip W. Tuttle; Jennifer N. and Joshua B. A. Farley; and Desiree Tuttle; great-granddaughter Alexis F. Tapia; 2 brothers: Anthony E. Pruitt (wife, Carol) of Indianapolis and E. Earl Pruitt, Jr. (wife, Doris) of Middleburg, FL; sister Mary K. Carson (husband, Tom) of Beech Grove; daughter-in-law Kindra Oates; daughters-at-heart: Theresa Heatherly; Theresa Wiswasser; Kim Mitchell; Debi Holtzclaw; long time friend G. Jeann Crowcroft; and several nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Lucille Guy.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.
