Obituary

Barbara Ann Taylor, 64, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on July 2, 2026, after courageously battling cancer. Born on Christmas Eve, 1961, Barbara was the firstborn of five children — a role she embraced with quiet strength, creativity, and a gentle spirit.

She was the beloved daughter of Shirley Taylor and Thomas “Red” Caudill, and sister to Joe (Elaine) Taylor, Walt (Teresa) Taylor, Vickie (Jeff Brown), and Dade (Staci) Taylor. Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Eden Webb (July 19, 1987); her father James Taylor;  grandparents; and many cherished extended family members and friends.

Barbara found joy in words. She loved writing poetry and short stories, and she was an avid reader — especially of The Bible, which grounded her life in faith and hope. Even as a child, her creativity shone brightly: she wrote skits for her brothers Joe and Walt, to perform on a tape recorder, and she loved dancing with her younger siblings. Though quiet and reserved, Barbara expressed herself through imagination, kindness, and the small acts of love that shaped her family’s memories.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8th at Noon, followed by a 1:00 PM service at Garden View Funeral Home in Muncie, Indiana. Barbara will be laid to rest in Gardens of Memory, beside her daughter Holly — a reunion long held in her heart.

Barbara’s life was marked by devotion to family, deep faith, and a creative soul that touched everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
