Barbara Sue Wimmer passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Venice, Florida on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the age of 76. She was born on March 28, 1944 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Elijah and Mary Osborne.
Barbara grew up in Gaston, Indiana and attended Gaston High School. She lived most of her life in Muncie, Indiana before reuniting with her high school sweetheart after 30 years apart. Barbara married Michael on Valentine's Day 30 years ago and moved to South Carolina before settling in Florida for the past 23 years. Michael showed the true meaning of love in the care he provided for Barbara over the past year.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Michael Wimmer of Venice, Florida; daughter, Bonnie Winn (Charles) of Muncie, Indiana; sons, Ron Bond of Gaston, Indiana and Greg Bond (Toni) of Muncie, Indiana; sister, Thelma Miller (Dale) of Anderson, Indiana; brother, Darrell Osborne; sixteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Mary Osborne; children, Danny and Tabitha Wimmer; sisters, Donetta Schirmer and Marilyn Clidinst; and brothers, Charles, Francis, Eugene, LeRoy, and Kenny Osborne.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Abby Guthrie . Burial will take place on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
Effective Monday, February 8, 2021, Garden View Funeral Home and Gardens of Memory Cemetery are limited to a maximum of 50 people wearing masks inside or outside. Once the maximum is reached, additional visitors will be permitted for entry only as others exit. Thank you for your cooperation.
