Barney Frazier's Obituary
Byron "Barney" Frazier, 74, passed away February 17, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Barney was born on January 26, 1935 in Pottawatomie County, Kansas the son of Elvin and Dorothy Frazier.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He held many responsibilities in his many years of membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was member of the High Priest Group, and was actively involved in family history. He worked 12 years for Empire Gas of Hartford City, Indiana. He recently retired from Open Door Service, Muncie, Indiana.
He is mourned by many loved ones, including his wife of 39 years Barbara Frazier; five sons, David Frazier (wife: Tamme) of Iowa; Robert Frazier (wife: Linda) of Marshaltown, Iowa; Joseph Frazier (wife: Bonnie) of Pilot, Virginia; Jeffrey Frazier (wife: Fay) of Muncie, Indiana, and Timothy Frazier (fiance: Gia) of Muncie, Indiana; one daughter Debra of Iowa; brothers, Lawrence Frazier (wife: Dorothy) of Kansas City, Kansas; John "Buzzy" Frazier (wife: Mary) of Marion, Indiana; sisters, Betty Jewel (husband: Steve) of Canmer, Kentucky; Judy Carter of Marion, Indiana; Susan Bunch of Largo, Florida. His life was filled with the love and joy of his precious 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darrel; and sister Lois Appleby.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 21, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 4800 West Robin Wood Drive Muncie, IN. President of the Muncie Indiana Bishop Stake, President P. Thomas Burdett, will preside and Bishop Jeffrey D. Hiatt will conduct the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
