Obituary

Beatrice Bea'' M. Oliver-Waid, 89, of Muncie, went home to meet the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2010 with her family by her bedside at her granddaughter''s home. Bea, the oldest of nine, was born on August 14, 1920 to the late George Washington and Myrtle Francis Clark in Sal City, TN. Bea came to Muncie in 1924. Myrtle passed away when Bea was 12 years old, leaving her to help raise her younger siblings.
Bea worked as a nanny for the DeBois family. She also worked for several nursing homes in the Muncie area. She retired from Sylvester''s Nursing Home in 1986 after 12 years of service.
Bea was a member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church; and former member of Farm Bureau; Esters Circle Flower Mission at High St. Methodist Church where she attended with her second husband; Wesleyan Sunday School class; was a choir member; and Body Recall Fitness Center.
Bea had a kind heart, and loved her family and grandchildren very much.
Surviving relatives include her son Thomas Oliver (wife, Debbie); two grandsons: Eddie Blevins and John Oliver (companion, Samantha Buckles); two granddaughters: Lisa Bailey (husband, Mike) and caregiver Ashley Clarke (husband, James); two brothers: George Clark and Eugene Clark (wife, Ann); sister-in-law Merrel Clark; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents. She will also be reuniting with her first husband John W. Oliver whom she was married to for 38 years; her second husband Lowell H. Waid of 12 years; her daughter Rosemary Williamson; sisters: Velma Miller and Florence Garner; and brothers: J. D. Clark, Clarence Clark, LeRoy Clark, and Lawrence Raymond Clark.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN. Funeral services will be Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with her Pastor James Oliver McCowan officiating and music from the Mt. Olive Rejoice Singers. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church, 7500 N. Wheeling, Muncie, IN 47304.
