Bernice Rose Chambers, age 94, of Muncie, IN passed away on Saturday June 28, 2014 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. She was born on March 15, 1920 in New Castle, IN and was the daughter of the late Paul Wilkinson and Leona (Nation) Beeman.
Bernice attended school at New Castle, Indiana and has been an area resident since 1949. She was employed as a courier at Ball State University for 23 years and retired in 1986. She loved reading and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Bernice is survived by a son Robert (Karen) Turner of Muncie; daughters Carolyn (Dr. Joseph) Moheban of Shelbyville IN, Sharon Kennedy of Fishers, IN and Pamela (Leon) Mahoney of Virginia Beach, VA; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Roseberry of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Lee Chambers in 1979, sisters Kathryn Owens and Louise Slicker, and brother William Wilkinson.
Friends may call on Monday July 7, 2014 from 4-7 pm at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
