Bettie Lou Hughes, 66, of Muncie, IN passed away Friday April 11, 2008 at her resident. She was born on October 31, 1941 in Jamestown, TN the daughter of Walter Downs and Leavella (Bilbrey) Downs. On April 27, 1957 she married Bill Hughes who survives.
Bettie was a loving mother and grandmother and she was a avid reader.
Surviving relatives include her husband Bill Hughes of Muncie, mother Leavella (Bilbery) Downs, sons Billy Joe Hughes Jr. of Gaston, IN, Walter Allen Hughes ( wife Tina) of Muncie, Todd Hughes (wife Leslie) of Muncie, daughter, Toni Blanchard ( husband Phil) of Muncie, sisters, Melba Hess ( husband Earl) of Hampton, VA, Della Faye Roundtree of Muncie, Annetta Lincoln ( husband Richard) of Foxboro, MA. ten grandchildren, Matthew, Kayle, William, Anson, Nathaniel, Bre, Hunter, Isabella, Alexandra and Issac.
She was preceded in death by father, Walter Downs.
Services will be graveside only, at 1:00 pm on April 14, 2008 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 North State Road 3 Muncie In, 47303. Pastors; Daryl Parsons and Hoyt Davis will officiate the service. Memorial Contribution can be made to the Bethel United Baptist Church 301 Eastwood, Muncie IN 47303.
