Betty T. Dossett, 80, passed away early Sunday morning, October 4, 2009 at Liberty Village Nursing Home, with her son, Calvin and family by her side.
She was born June 29, 1929 in Muncie, the daughter of John D. Harty and Margaret E. (Arnold) Harty.
Betty graduated from Royerton High School in 1947. She had worked for herself as a Beautician and also worked twenty-nine years at the Delaware County Building, retiring from the Treasurers Office in 1994. Betty had attended Eden United Church of Christ. She loved doing craft work of many kinds and enjoyed being at the Grandma's Bazaar.
Survivors include her son: Calvin Harrison; one sister: Myrtle Thomas (husband-Mark Sr.); one brother: Jess Harty (wife-Sally); one sister-in-law: Marjorie Harty; several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Marilyn Beeson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: John E. Harty; two husbands: Ben Harrison and Wayne Dossett.
Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 or after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
