Betty A. (Hultine) Magill went to eternity on June 7, 2014. Betty was born on April 28, 1921 in St. Charles, Illinois. She was the 7th of 8 children of Charles and Nellie Hultine and grew up on the Silver Glen farm in St. Charles. Betty married Alfred Darnell on February 7, 1940 and they had four sons, Jeffrey, Gregory (deceased), Alan and David. Alfred died on October 17, 1971. In 1974, Betty married Leonard Magill, and together they enjoyed life, especially their membership in the Muncie Old Car Club, until Mac''s death in July 1996.
Betty was the secretary in the Ball State University Art Gallery until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed her work in the Gallery and appreciated the many friends'' acquaintances she made in her 18 years there. After retiring, she remained active in her Muncie home and enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In January 2012, she moved to an apartment at Westminster Village Muncie and appreciated the company of her several friends also living there. She later transferred to the skilled nursing care section of Westminster and remained on the Devon Unit until her death. Betty and her family members were comforted by the care she received there.
Funeral services for Betty will be held Thursday, June 12th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m...
