Betty J. Connor, 88, of Muncie, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parker City.

Betty was born October 26, 1924 in Harford City, Indiana to the late Clarence and Georgia Hurley. Betty worked as a nurses aid at Ball Memorial Hospital for 29 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of TOPS and was very active in her church and also the Muncie Mission. She enjoyed helping others, reading her bible, and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by three children, Larry Hurley (wife Ann) of Hartford City, Coleen Hamrick (husband Charles) of Lafayette, and Patrick Connor (wife Lorrie) of Lawton, OK; seven grandchildren, Brian Hurley and Gary Hurley of Hartford City, Erin, Devin, and Jordan Hamrick of Lafayette, and Casey and JoRae Connor of Lawton, OK; three sisters, Dorothy Schroder (husband Richard), Sara Wolf (husband John), and Judy Eggley; a brother, Eugene Wright; and four great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger J. Connor; four brothers, William Hurley, Fred Wright, Oren Wright, and Louie Wright; and four sisters, Ellen Krascher, June Clark, Rebecca Eppard, and Kay Chism.

A funeral service to celebrate Betty''s life will be 1:00pm Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00am to 1:00pm Thursday, at Garden View Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Muncie Mission with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
