Betty Jean Johnson, 82, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 17, 1931 in Alexandria, IN the daughter of J. Virgil and Etta Mae (Alexander) Farrington.

She was a 1949 graduate of Morton Memorial High School, ISSCH Knightstown, IN. After High School, she attended the St. Vincent''s Nurses Training School in Indianapolis and in 1952 graduated as an RN. She worked at Ball Memorial Hospital, Fountainview Nursing Home, and for the United Way of Delaware County in the Gateway Clinic.

Surviving relatives include sons, Scott wife Blanca, one granddaughter, Brad wife Michele, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Chris wife Ellen, three grand children and three great-grandchildren, Robert and two granddaughters. Daughters include Marlene Pettiford, and Elizabeth Hase husband Gary, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She left behind her beloved dog, Pixel.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack, her parents, two brothers, John and Robert, a sister Francis, a son Gregory, and a granddaughter, Shelby Johnson.

Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie has been entrusted with arrangements. Per the family''s request, there will be no services or calling hours.
