Betty B. McFarland, 83, of Muncie, IN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 21, 2008 at her home. She was born July 2, 1925 in Delaware County, the daughter of Joseph C. and Roxie (DeWitt) Blakely. She married Omar D. McFarland on September 30, 1961, whom precedes her in death.
She graduated from the DeSoto High School in 1943, and was employed for 32 years at the Indiana Steel and Wire. She was a member of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include sister, Josephine Robinson of Brookfield, Wis, two nieces, Mary-Lynn Robinson of Brookfield, Wis and Carla Jo Standard of Milwaukee, Wis, five nephews, Michael McFarland of Beech Grove, IN, Scott McFarland of Indianapolis, IN, B. Mark McFarland of Warren, IN and Fred McFarland of Eaton, IN, several great nephews and one great niece, special friends, Katherine Strong and Kathy Buell and her beloved kitty Jake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Walter D. Blakely and Robert A. Blakely, niece, Holly McFarland and nephew David C. Robinson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday October 24, 2008 At the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana, 47303. Pastor Dean Johnson will officiate the service. Viewing will be on Thursday October 23, 2008 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Action for Animals. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
