Betty L. Peercy, age 69 of Muncie passed away on Friday December 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. Born on August 11, 1944 in Jamestown, TN she was the daughter of the late Howard and Maggie (Sells) Smith.
Betty married Dean Peercy on June 17, 1961 in Jamestown, TN. She was always a caregiver whether it was working as a CNA or caring for her family at home.
One favorite hobby Betty had was that she loved shopping for just about anything.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Dean Peercy of Muncie; children Gary Lee (Betty) Peercy and Johnny Ray (Lisa) Peercy both of Muncie, Brian Dean (June) Peercy of Wolcottville, IN, David Wade (Stefanie) Peercy of Florence, KY, and Julie Norton of Muncie; brothers Hollis (Sherrial) Smith of Muncie, David (Phyllis) Smith of Jonesboro, IN, Charles (Teresa) Smith of Muncie, and Jim Smith of Pioneer, TN; sister Bonnie Collins of Noblesville, IN; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special niece Christine Hensley of Huntsville, TN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Frank Sells.
Friends may call on Tuesday December 17, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Cole officiating.
