Betty Jane Youngkin, 77, of Harmony, MN (formerly a resident of Muncie, IN for 74 years) died Thursday March 19, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born on December 11, 1931 the daughter of John Elmer and Lola (Denton) Wormer. On January 12, 1974 she married Jerry Youngkin.
She enjoyed cooking, caring for her home, traveling and listening to music.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of 35 years, Jerry Youngkin of Harmony, MN; two sons, Randy Dyer of Warsaw, IN; Chris Youngkin of Shanghai, China; one sister, Judy Wyatt (husband: Eddie) of Muncie, IN; two brothers, William Lindsey (wife: Louise); Darrel Wormer (wife: Crystal) both of Muncie, IN; five grandchildren, Rochelle, Lindsay Dyer, Micco Losh, Derrick Dyer, Kyle Youngkin; three great-grandchildren, Austin Kistler, Eden Losh; Drake Losh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Walter Wormer, one son, Mark Dyer, and one daughter, Trena Youngkin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday March 23, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in memory of Betty Youngkin.
