Beverly Jean Toomey, 91 of Muncie, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, August 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 4, 1925 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late Harry F. Sr. & Helen (Strong) Lawrence.
Beverly was a 1943 graduate of Muncie Central High School. She worked as a secretary in many local offices; she retired from Douglas Insurance Agency after 22 years of dedicated service. Beverly was a longtime member of Halteman Village Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She married the love of her life the late Claude J. Toomey, Jr. on May 24, 1945.
Beverly is survived by her son Randall Toomey (Jeanne) of Selma; her daughter Cynthia Gregory of Muncie; three grandchildren Kimberly Gregory of Yorktown and Jason Randall Toomey and Ann Marie Toomey both of Selma; a great-granddaughter Hannah Brooks of Yorktown; a brother Harry Lawrence Jr. (Penny) of Parker City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Claude J. Toomey, Jr. in 2008 ,infant daughter Claudia Jean Toomey and a sister Kay Dickinson.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastors Ron Ross and Nathan Watson officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
