IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billie (Bill)
Franklin Neal
October 23, 1949 – March 12, 2023
Billie (Bill) Franklin Neal
Born October 23, 1949, died March 12, 2023.
Born in Cooper, KY to Arthur and Audrae Mae (Mullins) Neal. He moved to Muncie, IN with his family in 1950. On March 14th, 1970 he was married to Kris (Lynnette), and the two would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary this week.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife Kris, his sons James Allen (Kiersten), Jason Edward (Cristina), Jeffrey Ryan (Cammie), and Jeffrey Michael (great-grandson and adopted son), grandchildren, Seth, Kaylee, Abigail, Emily, Ryan, Alex, Gabe, and Lucas, and great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Indiana, and Ezra. Also survived by his brother Bobby Ray, many beloved nieces and nephews, and several, special "adopted" exchange students: José, Judith, Minh, and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Billie Franklin Jr, and grandson Branden Tyler Andrew.
Bill retired from General Motors where he worked for 40 years (16 years at the Muncie plant and 24 years at the Marion plant). Bill will be remembered for the ways he loved to help others — especially his grandchildren. He was the "chauffeur" for many of his grandchildren, taking them to their favorite places to eat and to school. He was also known for his ability to figure things out and fix things for his family. His phone was often ringing with requests for help, and it was his joy to oblige. He was a member of Muncie First Church of the Nazarene where he served faithfully for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Muncie First Church of The Nazarene (address: 3101 N. Benton Rd. Muncie, IN 47304) at 1:00 PM with visitation to take place from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Burial will take place after services at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
