Billy J. Upchurch, of Muncie, IN, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born to the late Jack O. and Ella F. (Wynn) Upchurch. On May 9, 1959 he married Ida M. Montgomery.
Billy loved flowers, being outdoors, mowing the yard, and fixing anything and everything. He loved his entire family and the family vacations they all took. He was a very well-rounded and well-liked man. When not working hard, he enjoyed spending time with his good friends Herbert Murphy and Ralph Rowe.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 51 years, Ida Upchurch; special children; grandchildren; and great grandchildren; brothers; sisters; a special aunt; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and a brother.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
