Bobbie J. Finney, 79, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2010 at the Ball Memorial Hospital Emergency Room following a extended illness.
She was born on July 3, 1931, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Everett and Elsie(King)Jordan.
Barbara married the love of her life Dewey Lee Finney in 1964 and he preceded her in death August 16, 2010. Mrs. Finney had worked for various area restaurants for twenty plus years as a waitress, cook, and dish washer. She enjoyed bowling, going to Cop Shops and cooking for others. Barbara was a people person who loved rummage sales and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Tonya Phillips (husband, Jim), Daleville; three sons, Troy Finney ( girlfriend, Sylvia Norris), Selma, Jim Roberts (wife, Margaret), Muncie and Roger Roberts, Gaston; one step-son, David Burnum (wife, Vickie), Muncie; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Tywana Coats, Muncie and Phyllis Sloan, Muncie; two brothers, David Jordan (wife-Linda), Muncie and Jimmy Jordan (wife, Linda), Tennessee.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty and Wyana; two brothers, Buddy and an infant son.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 12, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Fran Bullock and Rev. Peggy Whited officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday November 11, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
