B. Roberta Lefevre "Bobbie", 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2017 in Holland, MI. Bobbie was a lifelong resident of Hartford City until she moved to Holland in 2013 to be with her two daughters Lisa White and Lynn Lefevre, son-in-law Clif and grandson Joseph.
Bobbie was a bookkeeper at Indiana & Michigan Electric in Muncie before marrying Vernon Lefevre in 1947. Once married, she became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. In addition, she kept the books for the family insurance business and spent summers helping run the family miniature golf course on Kuhn Lake in Northern Indiana that she and Vernon designed and built in 1962 and operated until they sold it in 1976.
Bobbie was very active in the community when she lived in Hartford City. She was a life member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, a 68 year member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, Deborah Circle and long-time secretary/treasurer of the Senior Citizens Center. In addition, Bobbie was active as a Rotary Ann when the local Rotary Club held special events and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. Bobbie was an avid Bridge player and could be found every Tuesday afternoon with the ladies in the dining room at the Blackford County Country Club and several evenings every month at various Bridge tables around town. Graduating Salutatorian of her class in 1941 from Hartford City High School, Bobbie never tired of talking about what a good "brain game" Bridge was.
Bobbie will be lovingly remembered as witty, a trusted listener, an excellent hostess, someone who made friends easily and was a willing and supportive friend who could be counted on 24/7/365. She had friends, true friends, from every generation of her life. Most of all she will be remembered as an amazing mother, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. Quite simply, Bobbie lived her life for her family and friends and she was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved most.
Bobbie is survived by daughters Lisa and Lynn, son-in-law Clif, grandson Joseph and Sister Betty Wieland of North Manchester, IN along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
