Bobby "Dean" Bowden, 66, of Eaton, IN died Wednesday January 16, 2008 at his residence in Eaton. He was born on March 25, 1941 in Shawnee, OK the son of Jack Travis and Clora (Burgess) Bowden. He graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, OK and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On August 21, 1996 he married Barbara (Miller) Bowden who survives.
Dean was an avid sports fan and enjoyed NASCAR and watching the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed his work as a semi driver for over fifty years.
Surviving relatives include his wife Barbara Bowden of Eaton, IN; two step-sons, Michael Little (wife Diane) of Dunkirk, IN; Gary Little (wife: Martha) of Desoto, IN; three step-daughters, Sandra Bowdell (husband: Allen) of Albany, IN; Paula Brown (husband: John) of Eaton, IN; Connie Little of Muncie, IN; six brothers, Tom, Virgil, Larry, David, Jack and Ted Bowden; one sister, Marge Washburn; twelve step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty Bowden, one sister and five brothers.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 19, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Trimble will officiate the service. The Delaware County Honor Guard will honor Dean with Military Rites. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door Cancer Services of Delaware County or to the Ball Memorial Hospice Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
