Obituary

Bonnie Christine (Cowan) Harris, 84, of Selma, died Thursday afternoon, October 30th, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 13th, 1930 in Albany, KY, and was the daughter of the late General Roscoe & Parke "Janie" (Burris) Walls.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister. She was a very faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Muncie, where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed Bible Studies. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was her families rock.
Bonnie is survived by a son, Floyd O. Cowan Jr., of Zephyrhills, FL; a daughter Doris Smith of Zephyrhills FL; a brother Everett Walls (Pat) of Muncie; a sister Delta Stearns of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Bickford of Indianapolis, Michelle Schultz (James) of Selma, Tonya Morrow (Harvey) of Selma, Kristi Herron of Muncie, Amy Smith (Terry Coomler) of Fishers, Douglas Smith of Greenwood, Amanda Cowan-Webb of Mt. Summit, Nikki Yapp of New Castle, and Erica Looper (Ryan) of Anderson; thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; step-grandchildren Michael Geiger (Nancy) and Pam Geiger; two brother-in-laws Ivan Cowan (Nadine)of Muncie and Billy Cowan (Ruth) of Albany, KY; a son-in-law Jerry Nibarger of Selma; several nieces and nephews also survive. IN addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of forty-eight years Floyd Oren Cowan Sr. in 1994; her second husband Emery O. Harris in 2002; a daughter Connie Lee Nibarger in 2008; two sisters Eva Pippin and Betty Jean Walls.
Funeral Services for Bonnie will be held Monday, November 3rd, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday, November 2nd, 2014 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Association, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
