Brenda Gasser, 64, of Springport , IN died Saturday March 17, 2007 at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1942 the daughter of James R. and Mary Jean (Smith) Dalrymple. She graduated in 1960 from Arlington High School in Rush County and also graduated from Ball State University with a masters degree in elementary education. She was a kindergarten teacher at Cowan Elementary and retired in January 2005.
Brenda was a member of the Bosom Buddies Cancer Organization and the Monroe Township Home Ec. Club. She attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Muncie . She belonged to Bible Study Fellowships and also was part of a small group at her church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling, and exercising. She also enjoyed the outdoors and being active in 4-H as a member and leader for several years.
Surviving relatives include one son, Doug Gasser (wife: Bonnie) of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Brock and Brandon Gasser; two brothers, Phil Dalrymple (wife: Linda) of Rushville, IN; and Ronnie Dalrymple (wife: Billie) of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Connie Dearinger (husband: Dwain) of Westfield, IN; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; former husband: Max Gasser; and devoted friends, Cindy and Wil Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-mother, Roberta Dalrymple.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 20, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Glenn Greiner will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie . Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cowan School or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Brenda Gasser.
