Brenda Dawn Engelhardt Gates, age 34, of Yorktown passed away Friday July 15, 2011 at her home. She was born December 2, 1976 in Indianapolis to Robert F. and Vicki Lynn (Brazzel) Engelhardt. Brenda was a graduate of Southside High School and was a Nursing Assistant at several local healthcare centers. She attended Temple Baptist Church and loved to golf and play Bingo.
She married Kevin Gates on December 2, 2004 and he survives her along with her son, Ganin; daughters, Kaitlin, Gwendalin and Brookelin Gates; father Robert Englehardt; brothers Robbie and Chris (Hilda) Englehardt; sister, Renee (fianc Verdell Kelly) Englehardt Jones; father and mother-in-law James and Teresa Johnson; sisters-in-law Macie and Kacie Johnson; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Aunt Janice Clark, nephew Leeander Englehardt, son, Briendal and grandmother, Vadetta Clayton.
Visitation will be held at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie, IN 47303 on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A burial and graveside service will be held at a later date.
