Brenda Leigh Phelps passed away on June 1, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana, at the age of 81. Born on
November 20, 1942, in Co-Operative, Kentucky, Brenda was the daughter of James Dester Jones and Lucille (Burnett) Jones. She devoted over 50 years to sales, notably at Macy's, where her warmth and expertise left an indelible mark on all she served.
In 1961, Brenda married her beloved husband, Robert Phelps, sharing a bond of enduring love until his passing in 2020. They stood by each other through life's joys and challenges, leaving a legacy of commitment and devotion.
Brenda's life was marked by her dedication to family, friends, and her career. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where she welcomed all with open arms and genuine hospitality. Her memory will be cherished by a host of loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.
She is survived by her brother, Ronnie Jones; brother-in-law Jimmy Phelps; cousin, Doris Miller (husband, Tony); and best friend, Kathy Dytmire.
Brenda is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Robert Phelps; her parents', James Dester Jones and Lucille (Burnett) Jones; and her son, Jeffery Shane Phelps.
The family has entrusted Garden View Funeral Home to handle her service. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Memory Cemetery - Muncie.
