Burl "Reid" Virgin, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on June 27, 1929 the son of Chester Burl and Eva Marie (Small) Virgin. On June 15, 1951 he married Alberta G. (Life) Virgin.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Muncie where he served as a deacon and trustee. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and church family. He was a dedicated husband for 60 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He will be missed by his beloved dog Gidget.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Alberta G. Virgin of Muncie, IN; one son, Michael R. Virgin (wife: Marsha) of Muncie, IN; two granddaughters, Kandace Renee Martin (husband: Chris) of Kettering, OH; Erin Michelle Sanders (husband: Brian) of Chicago, IL; one sister, Marilyn Joann Dodd of Indianapolis, IN; two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 16, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Delaware County Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
