Burton Long, Jr., 87, of Las Vegas, NV died on October 8, 2007 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on April 27, 1920 in Indiana the son of Burton W. and Ida (Kemp) Long, Sr. On October 18, 1949 in Ft. Wayne, IN he married Ernestine M. (Chvojka) Long who preceded him in death in 1973.
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Masonic Lodge in Matthews, IN.
Surviving relatives include three sons and one daughter, Larry Long of Golden, Colorado; Shirley Rose (husband: Charlie) of Las Vegas, NV; Ken Long of Dallas, TX; Rick Long of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, Jessica Domingo (husband: Rick) of Ripon, CA; Matthew Ball of San Mateau, CA; Stephanie, Steven, Kevin, and Melissa Long all of Dallas, TX, one great-grand daughter, Sophia Domingo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Parents, and two brothers, Robert and Arthur Long.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Trimble will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. The Delaware County Honor Guard will honor Burton with Military Rites. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
