Byron Norman Russell, 83, of Albany died early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 25, 1933 in Muncie and was the son of the late Frank M. & Faye O. (Dillinger) Russell.
Byron was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He drove a school bus for 12 years for Delaware Community Schools; he also was employed at Riggin Dairy, Marhoefers, and a self-employed well-digger and for over 10 years was Santa Clause at the Muncie Mall.
Byron is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Clarice E. Russell (Cleek); four children Glen Russell (Sandy), Steven Russell (Vicky), Jeanette Winfield (Brian), and Deborah Penrod (Greg); nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters, a son Bradley Russell also preceded him in death.
Funeral Services for Byron will be held, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Ball officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
