Carl Steve Hargis, 47, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Steve was born in Muncie on July 31, 1962, the son of Reverend Benton and Juanita (Cantrell) Hargis-Kissick, and attended Southside High School.
Mr. Hargis attended Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where his father pastured for many years. He was employed for several years as an electrician with F. F. M. Foods in Montray, Tennessee.
Survivors include his mother, Juanita Kissick; a daughter, Stevie Rae Hargis, Winchester; two brothers, John David Hargis, (wife, Vicki), Eaton and Scott A. Hargis, Muncie; a sister, Judy F. Gibson, (husband, Rosco), Muncie; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Benton Hargis.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Parson Mortuary with Pastor James O. McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.
