Carl Rhinehart, Sr., 82, passed Thursday, August 20, 2009 at his home following a lengthy illness. Formerly of Connersville, IN he has resided in Muncie for the past fifty-four years.
He was a member of the Shaffer Chapel AME Church, and was the owner of Rhinehart's Barber shop, and received the 1993 Martin Luther King Service Award.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dolores Rhinehart, Muncie, IN; one son, Carl ( Sylvia) Rhinehart, Jr., Muncie; a daughter, Margarita (David) L. Dodson, Indianapolis IN; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Redd Muncie; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Mr. Rhinehart was preceded in death by his father, Edward Rieman Rhinehart; mother, Mary L. Keene; sister, Georgiana Rhinehart; and brother, Rieman Paul Rhinehart.
Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m., viewing 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. prior to service, at the Shaffer Chapel AME. Interment at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
