Carla Jean Kay, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 4:34 pm, on Tuesday, June 14, 2026, at StoryPoint Fort Wayne West. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on December 26, 1948, to William and Mary (Leinaweaver) Elliott.

She graduated from Royerton High School, class of 1966 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Purdue University. After college, she later worked as a property manager with HUD for over 20 years until her retirement in 2016. Carla also was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne, where she regularly volunteered at their food bank.

Carla enjoyed a good game of cards or sitting down to a good book. She kept up with all the local Indiana sport teams and was always waiting for a moment to talk about their performances. She will be remembered as a great sister and someone who was fun and brought humor to those that surrounded her.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Joan) Elliott; three nieces, two nephews, and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Neal Elliott.

The family will have a service to celebrate Carla’s life at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.

Burial will take place at a later date at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
