Carlos Charles Sears, 81, of Hartford City, IN passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Bridgewater Centre. He was born on June 18, 1927 in Sommerset, KY, the son of Charles and Lena (Phelps) Sears. Mr. Sears graduated from Muncie High School. On April 16, 1948 he married Thelma Gregory and was married for 61 years.
Mr. Sears was employed at Colonial Bakery, Muncie, IN, for 32 years and retired from there in 1981. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Carolyn Clamme (husband: Gary) of Hartford City, IN; sons Jack Sears (wife: Sheila) of Albany, IN and John Sears of Hartford City, IN; four granddaughters and one grandson; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, his lovely wife Thelma, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Bishop Mike Shrack will officiate the service. Committal services will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will also be Friday, February 13, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
