Carol Mae Brown passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, on September 12, 2026, at The Waters of Muncie. Carol was born on May 22, 1942, to the late Harry L. and Inez L. (Kerchner) Diemer in Tiffin, Ohio.

Carol worked for many years as a CNA for various hospitals around the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, where her genuine love for others shined ever so brightly.

Carol was definitely a social butterfly, having never met a stranger. Anyone that ever met her instantly felt drawn to her magnetic smile and beautiful spirit. She spent most of her retirement years doing all sorts of volunteering for her church and senior center that she loved so much. Her favorite pastimes consisted of playing bingo or any type of card game, doing arts and crafts and putting together puzzles. She also loved to sing and dance and just always enjoyed socializing with her family, friends and neighbors.

Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Lalonna (Rusty) Luther and Paula Bonesteel; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Megan) McGlothlin, Nicholas (Kortlyn) McGlothlin, Gavin Stepanek, Alexa (Ellis) Frame, Cheniece Bonesteel and Christopher Bonesteel; and eight great grandchildren, Jaiden, Kaden, Zachary, Conner, Karson, Theodore, Kyrie and Kato.

Preceding her in death are her parents Harry and Inez (Kerchner) Diemer; husband, Bentley E. Brown; brothers, Paul R. Diemer and Kenneth E. Diemer; sister, Phyllis A. Perry and son, Wesley Owen Dudley.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Waters of Muncie and Southern Care Hospice for their caring support over the last many months and years.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Carol’s life at a later date. Details regarding the time and location will be shared by family once they are finalized.
