Carol Peterson, 54, passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a sudden illness.
She was born, July 6, 1953, in Covington, KY the daughter of James and Helen (Smith) Kearns, moved to Muncie as a child and graduated from Delta High School in 1971. Carol was co-owner and operator of Pete''s Duck Inn and Catering.
Surviving besides her mother, are her husband of 36 years, Phil; two daughters, Susan Duckworth (husband-Travis) and Jill Seals (husband-Chad), both of Muncie; five grandchildren, Alexis and Gage Peterson, Wakefield, VA, Kaylee, Aubree, and Rylee Seals, all of Muncie; two brothers, Mike Kearns (wife-Shelia), Muncie and Paul Kearns (wife-Lynn), SC; two sisters, Ellen Watts (husband-Dave), Ft. Wayne and Gail Roth (husband-Scott), Ft. Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her son Jon Peterson; and an uncle, Dale Kearns.
Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008, with Rev. Martha Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday or one hour prior to services on Thursday.
