Carolyn E. Gibson, 95, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Parkview Nursing Center.
Carolyn was born on October 15, 1914, in Muncie the daughter of David E. and Maud (Halsted) Parks, and was a lifelong resident of Muncie. She married George Earl Gibson in 1935.
Carolyn was a homemaker, and in her later years was employed at the Red Dog Saloon until her retirement after twenty years of service.
Mrs. Gibson was a member of Full Gospel Temple, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Lodge #231, and the Forest Park Senior Citizen Euchre Club. She loved to travel, play Bingo and Euchre. She was a resident of Parkview Nursing Center since January 2005, and was known by many as Miss Sparkle.
Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Beeson, (husband, Jay), Gaston; two daughters-in law, Patricia Gibson, Orlando, Florida and Debbie Gibson, Muncie; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Donald E. Paul E. and Robert E. Gibson; five brothers; three sisters.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Parson Mortuary or one hour prior to time of service on Thursday.
