Carolyn Sue (Scott) Lasater, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. She was born January 13, 1933, to Elmer and Wilma Scott. She grew up with three brothers, who preceded her in death: Carl, Gene, and Bud. Her fourth brother, Donnie, still survives.

In her younger days, she was a Selma Bluebird cheerleader and grew up playing countless raucous games of euchre with her family. She was a ten-year member of 4-H and years later applied those skills when she married the love of her life, Allen Gene Lasater, in 1951. Gene preceded her in death by a mere two months.

Allen and Carolyn were married for 74 years and had five children: Cheri (Dale), Vicki (Dan), Cindi (Mark), Polli (Jeff), and Scott (Teresa). They had 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family deeply and sacrificed for each of them countless times, always putting her husband and children before herself. Carolyn was a social butterfly and loved hosting family dinners and entertaining friends in general, but especially her Florida friends, as well as her euchre club, home ec club, and bridge club girls. She was also a member of the Gaston Main Street Church, where memorials may be sent. A private service for the family will be held to honor Carolyn’s life.
