Carolyn T. Rea, 71, of Hartford City, IN went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 18, 2009 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on October 30, 1937 in Portsmouth, VA the daughter of Alva R. and Evelyn C. (Richardson) Turner. In 1955, she graduated from Craddock High School in Portsmouth, VA.
She worked at 3M in Hartford City, IN and retired in 1998 after 37 years of service. She enjoyed playing sports and coaching. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Teresa "Teri" McCoin (husband: Mike) of Hartford City, IN; one brother Douglas Turner (wife: Leona) of Manassas, VA; one sister Beverly Turner of Hartford City, IN; three grandchildren, John McCoin (wife: Jennifer) of Lansing, MI; Brian McCoin and Joe McCoin (wife: Brandy) both of Hartford City, IN; three great-grandchildren, Megan, Chelsey, and Joshua McCoin all of Hartford City, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alva Turner, Jr. and Edward Lee Turner.
Private family services have been arranged. Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN is assisting the family. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN.
